I just found the article on Dec.7 titled “From space”. The line shape convective system in the article may be same one which passed over R/V Mirai in the arternoon on Dec.7.
The attached photos were taken from Mirai, at before, during and after the passage. The radar-captured echo top height was generally shallow (around 5-km). However after the passage, we were suffrered by strong wind (15 m/s in average) until the next morning (roughly 3/4 days). After the strong wind left, we are under the calm condition until now.
