YMC is a 2-year (2017-2019) campaign.
Through international collaboration and coordination, integrating observation and modeling, bridging research and operation, and outreach and capacity building, YMC is expected to advance to an unprecedented level our understanding and prediction of the MC weather-climate systems for socioeconomic benefit both locally and globally.

YMC（Years of the Maritime Continent; 海大陸研究強化年）は2017年夏から2019年夏までの2年間に及ぶ国際キャンペーンです。
インドネシアを中心とする東部インド洋から西部太平洋にかけての海と陸（島）が混在する「海大陸」域の気象・気候現象に対する理解を深め、 さらには日本を含む中・高緯度にどのような影響を与えているのかを研究します。このため、国際協力の旗のもと、現業機関や研究機関が共同し、 観測と数値モデルを駆使して、さらには次世代にも引き継ぐことを念頭においた活動を実現させます。
